Rent two scooters in Pattaya for a couple or friends
Couples and friend groups in Pattaya often want matching fleet scooters from one counter — two separate contracts, two cash deposits, paired return times, and overnight parking for both bikes. One shared contract is rare and risky.
Two scooters means two contracts, two deposits, and two full pickup videos — not one stack of cash and one walk-around. Book or walk in early in peak season, confirm return time on both slips, and sort overnight parking for a pair before you sign. Each rider needs their own licence check and helmet.
Holiday couples in Jomtien, friend groups in Central Pattaya, and visiting families splitting across two bikes all ask the same question: can one shop hand over two matching Honda Clicks or Yamaha NMAX units on the same morning? On a normal weekday, yes — fleet shops keep several identical models. During Songkran, cool-season weekends, and long holidays, inventory tightens fast; the editors treat two-bike hire as a small logistics job, not a double discount.
This guide covers renting two scooters in Pattaya for couples and friends — one counter vs two, deposits, contracts, parking pairs, and return-day traps. If one person pays but another rides, read renting for a friend. If you are weighing one bike with a passenger instead, see two-up riding. Families with teens or mixed ages should also read family rental. Pair with walk-in rental, pickup checklist, and choose a shop. One shop or two counters
Renting both bikes from one shop is usually simpler: one forecourt, one staff member who knows you are returning together, and matching contract terms. You still sign two contracts — one per plate — unless the desk explicitly writes a bundled pair deal on paper (uncommon). Splitting across two shops only makes sense if one has your preferred model and the other has a spare; it doubles pickup admin and return risk if return times drift apart.
Arrive together with both riders’ passports, licence or IDP, and the same payment method. Ask for adjacent bikes in similar condition so tyre wear and brakes feel alike on beach-road runs. In peak season, message the shop on LINE the night before with dates, model preference, and “two units” in the subject line; see high-season rental.
Two deposits and two contracts
Each contract normally carries its own cash deposit in baht — often 2,000–5,000 per bike for automatic fleet scooters, higher for premium models. Do not assume one deposit covers both unless the receipt and contract state both plate numbers and both deposit amounts. Pay in baht, get a written receipt per bike, and note refund method on each slip.
Each rider should be named on their own contract. A shop that puts both bikes under one passport while two people ride creates ambiguity if one bike is damaged or impounded. Passport-copy policy applies twice: copy only, never physical passport hostage for either contract. Read deposit guide and passport policy.
Pickup video on both bikes
Run the full pickup routine on each scooter: slow walk-around video, fuel gauge, dashboard lights, tyres, mirrors, and existing scratches marked on the contract diagram. Couples often film only the first bike and rush the second — that is when pre-existing damage claims attach to the rushed handover.
Match helmet sizes per rider, confirm second helmets are included, and photograph both licence checks on the desk if staff allow. See second helmet and rental contract.
Parking a pair overnight
Two scooters need two consecutive spaces. Condo visitor parking, hotel forecourts, and shop lots vary: some bays fit one bike only, or security allows one rental plate per room. Before signing both contracts, confirm where both bikes will sleep — especially in Pratumnak and Naklua towers with tight basements.
Lock both with the supplied locks, avoid blocking fire lanes, and keep keys separate so one lost key does not strand both bikes. See condo parking and fuel and parking for soi parking norms.
Return timing and extensions
Confirm whether both bikes share the same return clock — e.g. 10:00 on day seven — or whether one contract started an hour later on pickup day. Late return on one bike can trigger per-day charges while the other sits ready. Extensions by LINE are fine only if both contracts are updated in writing.
Return together in daylight when possible. Joint inspection does not mean one video for two bikes: complete separate walk-arounds and fuel gauge shots. See return day playbook and extending rental.
Two bikes vs one bike two-up
One automatic scooter with a passenger is cheaper and one deposit, but two-up riding changes balance, braking, and helmet rules. For mixed confidence levels — one experienced rider and one nervous partner — two bikes are often safer and less stressful. Compare honestly before you commit; the editors do not verdict on riding skill, only on rental-counter fairness.
Scam patterns do not halve for couples
Deposit traps and fake damage claims hit two-bike returns the same as solo hires. The flagship scam guide covers every defence.
