One shop or two counters

Renting both bikes from one shop is usually simpler: one forecourt, one staff member who knows you are returning together, and matching contract terms. You still sign two contracts — one per plate — unless the desk explicitly writes a bundled pair deal on paper (uncommon). Splitting across two shops only makes sense if one has your preferred model and the other has a spare; it doubles pickup admin and return risk if return times drift apart.

Arrive together with both riders’ passports, licence or IDP, and the same payment method. Ask for adjacent bikes in similar condition so tyre wear and brakes feel alike on beach-road runs. Pay in baht, get a written receipt per bike, and note refund method on each slip.

Each rider should be named on their own contract. A shop that puts both bikes under one passport while two people ride creates ambiguity if one bike is damaged or impounded. Run the full pickup routine on each scooter: slow walk-around video, fuel gauge, dashboard lights, tyres, mirrors, and existing scratches marked on the contract diagram.
