Treat any open segment as an urban corridor. Follow the direction shown on current signs; do not assume a parallel road remains the return route. Maintain a speed that complies with the posted limit and permits a stop within visible space. After alcohol, do not ride.
Verify the exact Beach Road segment
Before entering the corridor, verify:
- Point of entry — read the direction, lane and vehicle signs visible at that junction.
- Intended exit — check whether works, events or temporary barriers change access.
- Pedestrian controls — follow current crossings, signals and any restricted zone.

Follow the current lane markings and overtaking rules. Do not cross into a prohibited direction or space because another rider does so.
Pedestrians and beach crossings
Pedestrians may cross away from marked points. Slow where sight lines are limited. If a crowd or closure makes the route unclear, stop in a legal place and choose a currently permitted detour rather than forcing through.
Parking a rental scooter on Beach Road
Do not infer parking permission from other parked vehicles:
- Read the current sign, kerb marking and temporary notice for that space.
- Ask authorised property staff whether a guest or rental scooter may remain and for how long.
