The short answer

Ask who will be the contracting rental operator, who receives any deposit, who owns or controls the scooter, and who completes the return inspection. Obtain the operator name and terms in writing. Government travel advice says not to leave a physical passport as a rental guarantee; ask what documented alternative is available. Record the exact scooter before leaving.

Budget daily rates

Hostel desk offers

Ask which legal or trading operator holds the deposit, supplies the scooter and inspects it on return. Deposit and passport red flags

There is no evidence-safe universal deposit amount. Record the exact security requested, refund trigger, timing, damage process and receipt before paying. Short-stay return habits

Cash and ATMs on rental sois

Ask each operator which payment method it accepts, whether a card transaction is a hold or a charge, and which currency will appear on the contract and receipt. Compare a referral near your accommodation
