Ask staff to demonstrate the stand on firm, level ground while you record it. Look for visible bending, cracks, missing hardware or failure to remain in its designed position. If anything is uncertain, request inspection or another bike and note the condition on the signed handover record.
A scooter can fall when its support is damaged, used incorrectly or placed on unsuitable ground. A fall can affect mirrors, levers, body panels and other components, so the stand and existing tip-over marks belong in the pickup record. This page does not claim how frequently stand failures occur or how suppliers assign responsibility.

Why kickstands fail on fleet scooters
Stand design varies by model: a scooter may have a side stand, centre stand or both, and the correct operating method comes from the manufacturer. Visible damage, loose or missing hardware and abnormal movement require qualified inspection; their presence does not by itself identify when or how the damage occurred.
Include the stand in the handover rather than focusing only on starting and brakes. Tie the demonstration to the registration plate in a continuous video and mark any existing tip-over scratches separately on the condition diagram.
Pickup: test, film and note
Before deposit and ride-out:
- Ask staff to deploy each fitted stand on firm, level ground.
- Observe whether it reaches and remains in the designed position without loading the scooter yourself.
- Record visible bends, cracks, corrosion, missing parts or damage around the mounting point.
- Film the staff demonstration and any abnormal movement.
- Write kickstand loose / bent on the diagram; staff initial.
If the stand does not support the scooter as designed or its condition is uncertain, request qualified inspection or another unit. Do not bend, tighten, lubricate or dismantle the mechanism yourself.
Pattaya parking surfaces that cause falls
Before leaving the scooter, examine the exact contact point. Sand, loose gravel, holes, slopes and surfaces softened by heat or water may not support a small stand foot consistently. Choose a permitted, stable place rather than relying on the apparent flatness of the wider parking bay.

After a tip-over: protect yourself at return
If the bike falls, move out of immediate danger, then photograph the position and visible condition without attempting a roadside repair. Report the event to the supplier promptly through a traceable channel and ask for inspection or recovery instructions. Compare the scooter with the pickup record.
Describe observable facts without guessing at the mechanical cause. Request an itemised assessment for any repair claim. Walk through mirror damage, scratch disputes, dispute a charge and return day.
