Daily car rental in Pattaya: prices and quote checks
Compare dated prices from named Pattaya operators, then settle the rental period, deposit, insurance, mileage and return time in one written quote.

There is no reliable single Pattaya daily average. Checked 23 August 2026, Take it Easy published 1–3-day prices of 1,200 baht per day for five named small cars and 1,600 baht per day for two named pickups. Best Motors published low-season totals starting at 2,100 baht for three days, while Andrei Motorbike Rent displayed car prices from three days upward but no one-day figure. These are provider examples, not a market range. Get one written total for your dates.
A short car hire is defined by the operator’s clock, not by the word “daily.” One quote may cover a 24-hour block; another may state fixed collection and return times or require a minimum period. The vehicle class, dates, delivery, mileage, deposit, insurance terms and late-return rule all belong in the same written quote.

The examples below were visible on operator-owned pages when checked. They may change with dates, season, branch, availability and vehicle. A displayed table is not a confirmed booking.

These tables use different periods and qualifiers. Best Motors labels its table low season and starts at three days. Andrei states that price depends on season, model and period and leaves the one-day car column blank for the listed cars. Take it Easy publishes a 1–3-day band. Comparing the numbers without those conditions would be misleading.
Daily, weekly or monthly: compare whole-period totals
Do not assume a universal crossover day. Ask the same operator for the total under every period label that could fit your trip. Take it Easy, for example, publishes 1,200 baht/day for days 1–3 and 1,100 baht/day for days 4–10 on its named small cars. That is one operator’s schedule, not evidence that every Pattaya agency changes price on day four.
Compare the total payable, kilometres allowed, extension rate and early-return treatment. If your return date may move, ask whether an extension keeps the original band and whether unused days are refundable. The weekly and monthly car rental guides cover longer-contract checks.
Build a comparable written quote
Ask each operator for the same fields so a lower headline does not hide a different contract:
Vehicle and period — exact model or class, collection time, return time and the number of billable days.
Price and extras — rental total, tax, delivery, additional-driver charge, mileage allowance and excess-kilometre price.
Security and insurance — deposit or card hold, release process, stated cover, excess, exclusions and claim steps.
Fuel and return — required fuel level, late fee, return location, inspection and written closure.
An operator saying that insurance is included does not tell you the excess, exclusions or authorised-use conditions. Ask for the policy or contract wording that applies to the exact car. A deposit and an insurance excess are separate concepts; never infer one from the other.
Documents and the pickup record
Confirm a car-valid document route recognised by current Thai rules for every authorised driver. Do not assume a motorcycle category covers a car or that an International Driving Permit creates a missing domestic category. At pickup, match the plate and vehicle to the contract; photograph each panel, wheels, glass, interior, odometer and fuel level; test lights, tyres, air conditioning and locks; and make staff mark pre-existing damage. Keep the signed agreement and payment proof. A short hire still needs a complete evidence chain.
Return day on a daily hire
Allow enough time for fuel, a joint inspection and written closure before a flight or onward transfer. Record the return condition and ask for proof that any deposit was returned or card hold was released. If staff propose a deduction, ask for the signed term, evidence and itemisation rather than arguing from memory. The car return-day guide gives the sequence.
Check the deposit and damage terms
Record the deposit and vehicle condition. A later damage charge is a separate claim that should be itemised against the signed contract and handover evidence.
