There is no citywide payment rule. Ask the chosen supplier whether it accepts cash, debit card, bank transfer or another method for both the rental and deposit. Confirm the amount, recipient, receipt, refund route and identity requirements in writing before visiting or paying.
The short answer
A traveller without a credit card may find a supplier that accepts another payment or security method, but this must be confirmed for the exact branch, date, scooter and renter. Do not infer policy from the words “cash accepted”; that may refer only to the rental charge while a different method is required for the deposit.
How cash scooter rental works
Ask the supplier to separate the rental fee, security deposit, optional equipment, delivery and any other charge. Payment method and deposit method may differ. A supplier might accept one method for the rental fee and another for the security amount, or its policy may depend on the vehicle. Do not use a citywide amount. Add the supplier’s written rental fee, deposit and any confirmed extras, then decide how to obtain and protect the funds. PromptPay and transfers without a card

Confirm the alternative before travelling
Send one written question that asks for the accepted rental payment, deposit method, exact amounts, identity documents, cardholder or account-name requirements, refund destination and expected release process. Ask the supplier to confirm that the answer applies to your dates and chosen scooter. Bring a second lawful payment option only if you understand its fees and protections; do not hand over unrelated identity documents, luggage or a physical card as an improvised substitute.
